Will you go the extra miles with Christ?

We’ve been called to greatness through Christ Jesus. I can imagine God didn’t save us here on earth for us to keep the great news of Salvation to ourselves. Yes we are citizens of heaven, but whilst we are still here on earth, we have been called to perform work in the Kingdom of God.

Let us reflect on the Great Commission, one of the last words spoken by Jesus, while on earth:

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20).

Jesus reminds us here that ‘all authority is His’, and if everything on the earth and in the heavens must obey Him and we are His, consequently we now have a pathway to boldly carry out the greatest commission. Obeying His Words is the first step towards a fulfilling life, knowing that He is always with us.

Have you been searching and yearning for a deeper relationship with Christ? Do you feel that tugging on your heart or that emptiness inside? Jesus is calling you to go those extra miles with him.

Do you have that deep desire to accomplish a task he has laid on your heart? Do you feel there is more to the life your living? Jesus is calling you to go those extra miles with him.

To answer that call is to be obedient to His Word. Obedience to God’s word shows your humility, it shows you’ve surrendered to His will, it shows you’re ready to develop that relationship with Him, it shows that you acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior and that His ways and thoughts are higher than yours. Reflecting on Isaiah 55: 7-9,

Let the wicked forsake their ways
    and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Your obedience to God goes far beyond your thoughts and what you feel. There are many souls awaiting your obedience. Once in alignment with God’s will, you’ll be surprised how many lives you’ve touched. Every follower of Christ in the vineyard of God’s Kingdom is important and there is no work that’s insignificant. Living a fulfilled life means going those extra miles with Christ. I urge you today, reflect on your life, build a better relationship with Christ, obey God’s Word, and trust Him with every aspect of your life.

Are you ready to develop that relationship with Christ? Are you willing to spend more time in His presence? Are you ready to completely trust that His ways and thoughts are way superior than yours? Are you ready to dive into the unknown with Christ?

Ask for Pardon

Obey His Words

Spend More time with Him

Trust Him
